Donald John Atkinson

Donald Atkinson was born on 2 November 1923 and enrolled at the School on 19 September 1933.

During World War II, Donald served as a Sergeant (Air Gunner) with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

He died on 28 August 1943, aged 19, and is buried in St Pierre Cemetery, Amiens.

His name is recorded on the Grammar School’s War Honours Board — alongside the names of all of the Grammar School’s alumni to die in the First and Second World Wars.
