Sports Photographs

Sport was the heart of life outside the classroom in Guisborough Grammar School. The school magazine is full of reports on the sporting triumphs and tragedies of the school teams, and school houses and individual students competed for trophies each year. Sport continued to be important when the grammar school became Prior Pursglove College in 1971.

In the archive, we have a wonderful collection of sporting photographs and memorabilia dating back to the nineteenth century. These are organised here by sport, with the football photographs divided over several albums as there are so many. Photographs are listed chronologically within albums where we know the date.

Can you help?
